The Standing Post School of Kung Fu is located in St. Augustine, FL. The school’s name reflects our emphasis on standing meditation as a basic and advanced training method to develop proper body alignment, centering, rooting and as a source of energy for self-healing and inner strength for martial arts.
He Chi Chuan™
He Chi Chuan™ is a protocol. A step by step method for teaching and learning self-defense. It is an elegant synthesis of principles and techniques from various Asian martial arts with the end result being an effective approach to empty hand combat.
A He Chi Chuan™ practitioner is in effect a student of Tai Chi, Xing Yi, Qi Gong, meditation, medicine and a student of “one’s self”.
Old City Kettlebell
Kettlebell training has become a favorite tool in my training regime. I find them to be fun to work with, sufficiently taxing to my body in a good kind of way, and demand attention to proper body mechanics and form. I think that their inclusion into any Tai Chi practice can only help the practitioner, and contrary to the purists, who often frown on any kind of weight lifting, the tool helps shed light on basic principles of tai chi practice.
