Tai Chi Sword
Tai Chi sword is taught to students who have been practicing the Yang long form or the Cheng Man Ching short form for at least 3 years. Sword form takes tai chi practice to a new level of body alignments. It also serves as a form of meditation and teaches the practitioner who to extend energy beyond the hands through the blade.
The type of sword form studied is the Tai Chi double edged sword or “jien” . This sword is often called the King of Weapons. A specific sequence of postures and transitions of movement are learned slowly which is essential for proper sword practice.
